Styling without a cut
A wash and blow-dry, an up-do and curl or flat-iron styling are each their own booking, so you can have your hair done properly without having it cut.
Time set aside for the occasion
An up-do is booked for 90 minutes, and the price list names weddings, galas and grads. Sabine, Berta and Fariba all do them.
Stylists with the hours behind them
Sabine has more than 38 years behind the chair, Fariba more than 25 and Berta more than ten. Berta works in English and Spanish.
Blowouts and blow-dries in Calgary
Some people ask for a blowout and some ask for a blow-dry. It is the same service here: a wash, then your hair dried and shaped with a brush and a dryer. A wash and blow-dry starts at $45 for short to medium hair, with long hair at $50 and a seniors' wash and blow-dry at $39.90. Sabine, Berta or Fariba will do it, and each is booked for an hour.
It is the right booking when you want your hair to look finished for an evening out, a meeting or photos, and you do not need a cut. If you would like a cut as well, a cut and blow-dry is $69.75 and is on the haircuts page. Colour services listed with a blow-dry, such as a root retouch and blow-dry, already include the finish.
Up-dos for weddings, galas and grads
An up-do is from $69 and is booked for 90 minutes. Our price list names weddings, galas and grads, and Sabine, Berta and Fariba all do them. The same booking covers a wedding, a gala or a grad.
To get the most from the time, bring a photo of the style you want and, if you have the outfit, a picture of the neckline. Bring any clips, combs or a veil you plan to wear, and wear a top that fastens at the front so you do not have to pull it over your hair. Plan the rest of your day with some margin around the appointment. If several people want up-dos on the same day, call 403-242-4230 before you book.
Curl or flat-iron styling, with no cut
Curl or flat-iron styling is from $30 and is booked for 45 minutes. It is for the day your cut is already right and you want your hair curled, waved or smoothed straight for an occasion.
It is a heat style, so it is made fresh each time. If you would like a curl you do not have to make every day, ask about a perm.
Which one should I book?
- Wash and blow-dry when your hair is cut the way you like it and you want it finished.
- Cut and blow-dry when it is due for a trim as well.
- Up-do when your hair needs to be up and staying up for an event.
- Curl or flat-iron styling when you want a different texture for the day, with no cut.

There is no difference in what you book here: both words describe a wash followed by a styled blow-dry, and our price list calls it a wash and blow-dry. If you want your hair curled or smoothed with an iron instead, that is a separate service, curl or flat-iron styling, from $30.

Yes. Curl or flat-iron styling is from $30 before GST and is booked for 45 minutes, with no cut. If you want a wash and blow-dry as well, mention it when you book so the right amount of time is set aside.
Does a haircut include a blow-dry?
Yes. Women's, seniors' and children's cuts on our menu are priced as a cut and blow-dry, and the men's and teens' cuts are listed with a style. A wash and blow-dry on its own is for when you want the styling without a cut. The haircuts page has the cut prices.
