IPL hair removal, done properly

What's commonly called laser hair removal at Struktur is actually IPL, intense pulsed light. The light energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle, converts to heat, and disables the follicle so future growth slows. Over a series of treatments, hair tends to come back finer, sparser and softer, with fewer ingrown hairs along the way.

Light, grey and white hair

Because IPL relies on pigment, very light, grey and white hair has always been the hardest to treat, on any machine. Our IPL system, made in France, has a dedicated setting for light and white hair, and a free test patch on your own skin and hair is the honest way to find out whether it will work for you before you commit to a series.

Dark hair, any area

For dark hair, IPL works well across the body, from the legs and underarms to the bikini line, back and face. Pricing depends on the size of the area treated, so a small patch like the upper lip costs less than a full leg; we'll confirm the exact price at your consultation or test patch appointment.

What to expect from a series

Hair grows in cycles, so a single session only catches the follicles that are active at the time. Most clients plan for a series of appointments spaced a few weeks apart, with touch-ups after that to manage regrowth. We'll talk through a realistic schedule once we've seen your test patch results.

IPL or waxing?

Waxing gives smooth skin for a few weeks at a time and works on any hair colour; IPL is a longer-term investment aimed at reducing regrowth over a series of sessions. Some clients do both, waxing between IPL appointments while the series is under way. See our waxing page for prices on single areas.
