What is a deep pore cleansing facial?
A deep pore cleansing facial is a European-style facial built around thorough cleansing. It exfoliates, steams, extracts and masks, then finishes with skincare products and a massage. It suits you if you want your skin properly cleaned and a stretch of time set aside for it.
It is Struktur's original service, and many clients book it first. Ute's advice is to leave extractions to a professional rather than doing them at home, and they are part of this facial.
Deep pore facial, mini facial or Diamond Reset?
The deep pore cleansing facial is $128 and runs two hours. The other facials on the menu are close relatives, or something quite different:
- Seniors' facial: $110, two hours, with Ute. It is a gentler version of this facial.
- Mini facial: $71, 90 minutes, with Soo. It is Soo's own facial, booked with her.
- Cryo facial with neck: $199, two hours, with Ute. It is this facial finished with cryotherapy, which applies controlled cold. See the cryotherapy page.
- The Diamond Reset: $195, two hours, with Ute. It is a different, layered facial with five parts, and it is booked by phone or text.

Booking a facial in Calgary and getting ready
A two-hour facial has to finish before the studio closes, so the last start of the day is two hours before closing time. Booking ahead is recommended for facials, and the studio asks for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change.
To get ready, tell Ute about the products you use and anything your skin has reacted to before. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, debit or cash, and 5% GST is added at checkout. There is free parking right outside the door at 2905 Richmond Road SW.

- Cleanse and exfoliateUte begins by cleansing your skin and exfoliating it.
- Microdermabrasion unitNext comes a session on the studio's microdermabrasion unit, which Ute uses to pull out impurities.
- Steam and extractionsUte applies steamed towels scented with lemon, then cleans out your pores by hand with steam. This is the extraction step.
- Mask and skincare productsA hydrating mask goes on, followed by Image Skincare products chosen for your skin type.
- Lips, neck and shouldersThe facial finishes with a lip treatment and a neck and shoulder massage.

How often should I have a deep pore cleansing facial?
There is no single rule. Ute's view is that regular facials are worth making a habit, but how often suits you is best settled with her once she has seen your skin. Ask at your appointment.
