A line made without PPD
We colour with La Biosthétique, a professional line made without PPD. If you have reacted to hair colour before, tell us when you book. A zero-ammonia upgrade for colour or highlights is from $15.
Priced before it goes on
Each colour service has its own price, and your colourist confirms yours before anything is applied to your hair.
Hair colour services in Calgary, and which one is yours
Our colour menu has five services. Here is how they differ, with prices before GST.
- Root retouch. Colour on the regrowth at your roots only. It is $125 with a blow-dry and takes about two hours.
- Full colour. Colour from root to ends, for faded lengths or a change of shade. It is $175 with a blow-dry and takes about two hours and 45 minutes, or $139 without styling.
- Single process. One colour, applied in one step. It is $100 and takes about two hours.
- Fashion colour. Vivid and pastel shades. It is $185 with a blow-dry and takes about two and a half hours, or $150 without styling.
- High-lift blonde. A blonde that lightens and colours in one step. It is $145 with a blow-dry and takes about two and a half hours.

Grey coverage, for women and men
A root retouch is the usual way to keep grey covered between full colours. Many clients who cover grey regularly book one every four to six weeks. Grey hair does not always take colour the way the rest of your hair does, so tell your colourist how much grey you have and where it sits.
If you would rather stop colouring and let the grey grow in, ask about blending it with highlights and lowlights, so the change is gradual. Men's colour, grey coverage included, is quoted by Sabine, Berta or Fariba from the same colour menu.
Toner, and the zero-ammonia upgrade
A toner adjusts the tone of colour that is already in your hair, for example to cool a warm blonde. It is $28 for a partial and $38 for a full, or from $78 with a blow-dry. A toner on its own takes about 30 minutes.
The zero-ammonia upgrade is from $15. It can be added to a colour or highlights service for a sensitive scalp, it adds about 30 minutes, and it cannot be booked on its own.
PPD-free hair colour
PPD, short for paraphenylenediamine, is a dye ingredient that some people react to. Our colour line, La Biosthétique, is made without it. If a past reaction has put you off colouring your hair, tell your colourist before anything goes on.
Booking colour, and what goes with it
Colour takes time, so booking ahead is recommended, and long colour appointments need to start early enough to finish before we close. Please give 48 hours' notice if you need to change one. A pedicure in our private pedicure room can be done while your colour processes.

What is the zero-ammonia upgrade?
It is an ammonia-free upgrade to a colour or highlights service, for sensitive scalps. It starts at $15, adds about 30 minutes and is added to a service you are already booking, not booked on its own. Ask for it when you book your colour or highlights.
