Choosing a skin treatment in Calgary

The main skin services at Struktur fall into five groups. Start with the one that sounds closest to what you want, then follow its link for the detail, the prices and the questions people ask most.

• A facial is a hands-on appointment. The deep pore cleansing facial is $128 and runs two hours: cleansing, steam, extractions, a mask and a massage. Our facials page covers the wider range.
• An IPL photofacial uses intense pulsed light on the face, the face, neck and chest, or the hands. IPL is light, not a laser. People ask about it for sun spots and pigmentation. A free test patch comes before your first treatment.
• IPL hair removal uses the same kind of light to reduce unwanted hair over a series of appointments. It is often called laser hair removal, which is why that name is on the page. It is from $39 for dark hair and from $79 for light, grey and white hair, depending on the area.
• Laser tattoo removal is the one of these five that uses a laser. It is $99 a session, one hour, with Ute, and it includes old microblading and brow tattoos.
• Cryotherapy applies controlled cold to a targeted area of skin, on its own or as a cooling finish to a facial. It uses no needles, and results vary from person to person. Targeted cryotherapy is $30.

Who you will see

Ute is the studio's owner and a certified laser technician and skincare specialist, with about 18 years in esthetics. She does the deep pore cleansing facial, the seniors' facial, cryotherapy, laser tattoo removal, the Diamond Reset and the IPL treatments.

Jo-Ann is the studio's IPL specialist and works alongside Ute on IPL photofacials and IPL hair removal. The Diamond Reset is Ute's alone.

Soo, the studio's nail technician, also does the mini facial: $71 for 90 minutes. It is her own facial, booked with her. There is more on each of them on the team page.

What books directly, and when to start with a consultation

These book directly, with no separate consultation: the facials, the IPL treatments on the menu, the Diamond Reset and laser tattoo removal. For IPL and the Diamond Reset, the skin assessment happens at the same visit.
