Sabine trained in Nürnberg, Germany, and has more than 38 years behind the chair. Fariba has more than 25 years behind the chair. Berta has more than ten years in hairstyling and works in English and Spanish.

A perm and style is $125 before GST. A cut is extra, on top of the perm. A seniors' perm and style is $115. Both are booked for about two and a half hours with Sabine, Berta or Fariba, so plan the morning or afternoon around it.

What a perm is, and who chooses one
A perm is a chemical service that sets a curl or wave into your hair, usually by wrapping the hair around rods. It is not the same as heat styling. A curl made with an iron is a style you redo, while a perm is a chemical change that does not wash out at your next shampoo.
People often choose one for body in fine or flat hair, for a curl that straight hair will not hold on its own, or to stop curling their hair every morning. How big the curl is depends on the rods, your hair's length and texture, and how it behaves, so that is a conversation for your stylist. Photos of the curl you like are a good place to start.
Before you book a perm
- Bring photos of the curl you want, and of curls you do not want.
- Tell your stylist about every chemical service your hair has had, including colour and lightening. A perm is a chemical service too, so your stylist needs the whole history before saying whether to go ahead, wait or add a treatment first.
- Ask about Olaplex or K18 when you book, so the time is set aside.
- Before you leave, ask how to wash and dry your curl and which products suit it.
Add Olaplex or K18 to your perm
You can add an Olaplex or K18 treatment to any perm. It is a separate service: $20 for a partial and $30 for a full, booked for 30 minutes. The Olaplex and K18 page has the full list.
