Brow lamination in Calgary: what it does

Brow lamination works with the hair you already have. It sets the hairs in place, so brows that grow in different directions sit in a more even shape, and the tint adds colour. Nothing is drawn onto the skin: it is your own brow hair, set and tinted.

Who brow lamination suits

Lamination is for people who have brow hair but find it hard to manage. It might grow upward or sideways, sit flat in places, or need brushing and gel to look tidy each morning. Because a tint is included, it also suits you if your brow hair is paler than you would like.

It is not the answer to bare areas with no hair to set. For those, ask Ute about microblading.

Lamination, a tint or microblading

Three services get mixed up, and they do different jobs:

• A brow tint, $22: adds colour to the hairs you have in about 30 minutes. It does not change their direction. See brow shaping and tinting.
• Brow lamination and tint, $69: sets the hairs in place and tints them, in about an hour.
• Microblading, $299: fine, hair-like strokes drawn into the skin by Ute, with a follow-up perfecting session included. It is semi-permanent, so the colour fades slowly rather than all at once.

Microblading is the longer-lasting option, and lamination is the one that works with the hairs you have.

Getting ready for brow lamination

Come without makeup on your brows. If you have recently waxed or tweezed them, tell Ute, and bring a photo of a brow shape you like if you have one. We are just west of Marda Loop, with free parking right outside the door.

Looking after laminated brows

Keep your brows away from water, steam and sweat for the first 48 hours. After that, brush them into place each morning and evening. Plan on about six to eight weeks before the shape softens and it is time to book again.
